Dear sisters and friends,
 
Greetings from saranalaya community.
We as a saranalaya community, entered manalmedu on 6^th June with great hope and anxious heart. Our parish priest Fr.Arockia samy SVD and our parishners welcomed us and our youth helped us in shifting things.

It was very opt time that we reached the place before the Feast of our parish “periyanayaki”. June 10 was memorable day for all of us, as we received our provincial council and our sisters from different communities in our small, beautiful rent house.

Our bishop Most Rev.Devadas Ambrose blessed the house in the presence of  few priests from thanjavur diocese, provincial from SVD and our sisters. We had solemn Eucharistic celebration followed by installation of new parish and introduction of our congregation sisters ministry in a new parish.

It added more joy for us as our sisters stayed with us one day, and we hope that it was a memorable day for all of us. Thank you dear sisters for your valuable presence and praying for us. We have began our new ministry in the parish and in the substations too. Keep us in your valuable prayers.

News from Ghana

Dear friends,

Greetings from Hamile, Ghana.

Here we are fine. The Holy Family school, started in 2009 is growing and going on. Here are some news which you may like to hear from us.

This year we were able to admit only 73 fresh students to the school due to limitted classrooms. One student was repeated and so we have 74 students (39 girls $ 35Boys) in Form I , 55 students in Form II( 34 Girls & 21Boys) and Form III  21 Students (12 Girls & 9 Boys). The Form III finished their final exams in May and they are out. 

Our school is included in the Secondary Education Improvement Project where 19 of our First year students (12 Girls & 7 boys) are given scholarship for the study. They take care of all their needs including the school fees for the three years. Next year also our form 1 students will be selected for the same scholarship. This is a 5 year project where World bank helps Ghana government for the betterment of the country and people.

After many travels up and downs and appeals for help to develop the school, the Ghana government has come to our aid. On 9th June 2015 when the D.C.E (District Chief Executive) of Lambussie- Karni District, came with his people and handed over the four project paper sanctioned to us, we knew that our dreams were flowering.   And on 11th June 2015 the site was handed over to the different contractors. D.C. E with his party members, the traditional local chief with his elders, the assembly man-Hamile, Representative from the Regional and District education office, representative of school PTA , engineer with four contractors, the staff and the sisters were present to witness this event.

The four projects are :1. Girls’ hostel, 2. The 12 rooms classroom block ( storey), 3. Boys’ hostel and 4. the Administrative block with library and ICT lab (storey). At the moment the class room project contractor and boys hostel project contractor are on site to start the work.

The Dining Hall and Kitchen Project sposored by « The International school in Grand Lancy »is about to complete. Thank you Sr.catherine Fromager and the Association for your generous contribution.

I gratefully remember our sisters in the Region who have arranged to have a beautiful life experience in India. Above all I thank the Lord Almighty for His providential care of me and His faithfulness that I experienced all through my life journey. My experience in India has allowed me to discover myself more. 

I realized that my very presence makes the difference more than my ability to use the language of the place, my religion and country to which I belong. I am touched by the very simple life of the people, their love and hospitality as I visited the villages especially to care for the sick and the suffering. I experience the joy and love of God through our children who are in the play school and in the hostel. I learnt something from our helpers also who helped me to speak their language. When I came from Egypt, speaking the language, Hindi/ Oraon of the people was a challenge, my attitude towards them spoke more than my words could express. My love for God and for His people helps me to grow in my religious life. 

With a grateful heart I remember all our sisters who have accepted and welcomed me to Navajeeven Region. A special “Thank you” for your simplicity, hospitality, concern, care & love. I express my sincere thanks to each one of you for your support, guidance and understanding as I grow in my journey in consecrated life 

I thank each one of you for my experiences of living out our charism of unity in multiple cultural realities. I feel proud to be a member of an International congregation to live our rich charism of communion.
